There’s big news over here at pattimhall.com.
I’m launching the Memoir Writing Studio and the first course–my signature course What’s Your Story? is my first offering.
Writing is difficult enough…let me help you get your pen to paper.
There is nothing more inspiring than words on the page. It’s that simple. A paragraph, a list, a bullet point sketch…words on the page in any form are the way a book gets written.
I’ve coached hundreds of people, most of whom have come to me saying that they “aren’t a writer” or “they can’t get a word on paper”. My cues, exercises and my style of encouraging writers to try to grasp a single moment in time work! The proof is in the satisfaction of people who have crafted their stories, shared them with family, and some have even seen the bookstore shelves.
There is only one way to write a memoir–one memory at a time. If you don’t think you can do it…try this cue and send me an email to let me know how it worked for you at firstname.lastname@example.org.
Your father’s face is a nest of lines. What can you imagine made him worry? Write a moment when you saw your father vexed with concern. Write using every sense, don’t leave out any detail.
Let the words flow. Go where the memory of your father takes you. This is a great start.
The What’s Your Story? course will walk you through “Putting Pen to Paper” exercises, “Making a List” prompts and #InspiringMoments
